About a year ago, I cut a big letter K out of a used Pizza
box. It came out good but I never got around to doing anything with it and eventually
it broke and got tossed in the trash. When I took up quilling
I decided this time I would buy a wooden letter so that it would be a solid
work area and just an easy head start. Remember, I am new to all of this, so
short cuts are welcome. J I got the letter through Walmart Online. It’s 1/8th of an inch thick
and 9” high. Good sized.
I started making shapes and gluing them together onto the
K. It was really cool looking, but very time consuming. After 2 hours of
making shapes and gluing them I found myself frustrated and knowing me like I
do.. I didn’t think I would finish it. Yes… I am
impatient. So this is how far I got….

So I looked at it….. I liked it and I thought it was
pretty, but I also thought it was too busy and like I said… I didn’t think I
would finish it at that point, so I scraped it all off and decided to start a
new design that might be easier to work with.

So now I am working on this new design. I’ll fill in some
of the blank areas when the basic design is nailed down…. Or not. It depends
on how it looks.
